My name is Kristian Sjöberg and I am an illustrator, sequential artist and storyteller.

 

I live in the westcoast of Sweden on an island called Tjörn.

I have always been interested in comics, illustrated books and movies and I guess you could say that it shaped me in such a way that I found it fascinating enough to persue an education within the subject matter.

​

I ended up with a vocational degree in illustration and sequential storytelling at a Comicschool (Serietecknarskolan) that belongs to Gävle University in Sweden.

​

Since I graduated I havent really chased a career within comics or storytelling, I have however spent some time on teaching shorter courses in how to create comics at a couple of schools, both of them on Tjörn.

​

I did start to further educate myself as an art and philosophy teacher at the university of Gothenburg for about 4 years, but I had to end my studies due to... economic problems. (no more money from CSN due to the fact that I also borrowed money from when I went to comic school, so CSN said "nope, sorry, you've reached your limit"). So I started working as a substitute teacher at different schools and have been doing that for about 3 years.

 

At the moment I work at a school on Tjörn as a resource teacher, helping students and support them in their studies and their different subject matters. Some times I try to use my drawing skills to clarify difficult problems, because sometime pictures can complement text on paper.

 

I usually paint and draw on my IPad together with my Apple pencil, but I never abandon the traditional methods of painting and drawing with pencils and brushes. Instead I try to combine the analog and the digital and vice versa.

The things I usually paint and draw is based on fantasy. And in the future I hope I can work with what I really love to do, namely to create, paint, draw and write. Perhaps I should start on an illustrated book. Or perhaps some other kind of work where I feel I can express myself and share what's in my weird mind.
